I collect and store information in order to:

  • Contact you about appointments.
  • Provide psychotherapy in a safe, consistent way.
  • Keep brief, accurate records of our work (a professional requirement).

 


 

How your information is stored

  • Records are kept securely and are not shared with third parties.
  • Electronic data is password-protected.
  • Paper records (if any) are stored securely.

 


 

How long I keep your information

  • Notes are kept for up to 7 years after therapy ends (as recommended for psychotherapists), after which they are securely destroyed.

 


 

Confidentiality and limits

  • All sessions are confidential.
  • The only exceptions are rare situations where I am required by law to share information, or if I believe there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or others.
  • I discuss my work in professional supervision, but clients are not identifiable in this process.

 


 

Your rights

Under UK data protection law (GDPR), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data I hold about you.
  • Request corrections if data is inaccurate.
  • Request deletion of your data (in some circumstances).
  • Withdraw consent for how I use your data.
